Conventionel Flavours

For decades aroma substances have been used in animal nutrition to improve feed palatability. In the past young animals (piglets, calves) were the focus of product development. Additionally, efforts have been made to standardize the taste of the ever-changing ingredients in feed production in order to achieve uniform feed intake. At the beginning of the 1980's, the market for highly concentrated liquid flavours developed rapidly, thus the cost of flavouring could be reduced with good results.
Other important areas of application were and are medicinal and mineral supplements. Also, here it is essentially about optimising feed intake. It makes sense, especially with chemically reactive mineral mixes, to stabilize flavourings through microencapsulation. The appropriate procedures were adapted from the Production of Feed Flavours and have proven themselves in practice.
Another variant is liquid, oil-soluble flavours, for example, fat added during the production of milk replacers.
In addition to the aforementioned flavours, a range of so-called "digests" are found in the pet food area which are manufactured using a special fermentation process and can be sprayed as a liquid supplement the most percentage level being in the finished feed sector.

We define the products cited above as "conventional" flavours and making a distinction between "functional" flavours (digestarom).  Functional flavours, in addition to improving feed palatability, have further effects on the animal organism. Our conventional flavours are sold under the registered brand name "RevestArom".
